Scenes From a Family Reunion

Been out of touch for a few days ata family reunion. So many shots I can't trim down the numbers enough. Chilly weather, but sun and family and games and food. What more can you hope for?

Here the race: (I finished the race, which by nature, means I win even if I didn't finish first.)

Grandparents with 2 grandkids.Makili with Aunt Laurie.
The perpetual fisherman #2 (sorry dad, Austin gets spot #1)
Makili REALLY like the watermelon.
Chris and Emily. So damn cute.
Perpetual Fishermen #1, my nephew Austin.
My cousin Makendra's son, Luke just starting to learn to share. A lifetime to master this skill.
Cousin Jenna LOVED Makili.
My cousin Sarah also loved Makili and stole off with him whenever able.
Uncle Blair and Jenna.
My Aunt Nancy kayaks! Who knew.
Sisters.
My dad getting some DST (Direct Sun Time) with help from his sister and organizer extraordinaire, Jean.
Emily running to meet Chris in some awesome sunshine.
Casey. All cuteness at 6 years old.
Tamara, my cousin-in-law, my neighbor, my friend.
More sharing with Caroline and Emily.
The siblings.
Pretty Julie.
A blurry shot of everyone.
Sarah and David.
Sweet Luke.
Excitable Tim rousing his team at Beal Cranium.

Sadly, I don't have an award-winning picture of all of my loved ones, but for those of you who check the blog and don't find yourself, know that it isn't for lack of love, just too many photos.

Playing With Zoey

Makili had a playdate with Zoey last weekend at Grandma's. Since then Zoey has gotten confident enough to walk on her own, even though she was plenty able before, as long as there was a finger to hold onto! What a cutie.
Makili tried and tried to throw his ball at the ceiling which cracked him up. And it cracked Grandma up too. Actually it was pretty funny.
Zoey makes some pretty silly faces...
Everybody got tossed around a little bit.

Tip of an Iceburg

This was just the tip of what I had to worry about when I got back from my 10-day vacation! Look at all that produce. And is just keeps coming and coming and coming. And so do the weeds and the mosquitos, which have been HORRIBLE! Poor Makili wants to go outside so bad and we get completely devoured when we do! Anyway, lots of cooking and freezing to do!

Wild Ponies Attack

Wild Ponies are the attraction at Assateague National Seashore in Maryland.  Extremely beautiful shore, wild and rugged.  I'm not so sure about sharing the beach with the horses.  I mean, it isn't that I mind sharing, but the poor horses get mobbed by crowds the whole time and don't get left alone.  Plus there's the poop all over the beach factor.  So yeah I was feeling sorry for them until they stormed out beach set-up and tried eating our trash and taking the neighbors newspapers, etc.  The life-guard shooed them away ultimately, and in fact I missed the excitement as I was in the bathroom.  But everybody else got the extra close-up view.

So short

We had a great weekend with everyone in Bethany Beach, which by the way is in Delaware not Maryland.  Good times.  We have a shot on this same bench 15 years ago.  A family comprised of different members, some the same.
For the record, Makili wasn't crying in the previous post because of the lemon.  He actually likes lemons.  He was just tired and crying because he couldn't get any more food.
Raph - always the show-off.
There was a lot of tossing people around.
Brittany was pretty, even upside down.
Then she got tossed in the water.  And was still pretty.  And that got the ball rolling.
Next, Grandma got tossed in.  She was a good spot about it.  She actually tried to stay in, and got slammed by a wave which prompted Austin to run around screaming "Grammy's down!  Grammy's down!  Mayday!  Mayday!"
